hi. I'm quite new to owning piggies, and after bathing my 2 boys for the first time, i was towel drying them and my big one suddenly tried to make a run for it, i tried to catch him and accidentally grabbed his leg instead of his body. i let go the second i realised this, and placed him in his cage. He seemed a wee bit startled. I feel sick to my stomach with worry that i have hurt him. Hes not making and sort of squealing noise to make me think he is in pain, and is eating and walking around, so am i being paranoid? i would never hurt such a little creature i love so much, iv felt tearful since. my wee pals 8...

Aww no! Don't feel bad; it's an instinct/reflex to grab what you can when they startle you and run off. If he is walking and not limping/crying then it sounds to me like he is okay! It'll have startled him but from what you've said he is acting normally. You'd be able to tell if his leg was hurt!

Welcome to the forum; sorry you had to start off here with a worry! Give him a kiss and a cuddle and maybe a sneaky treat! :)

Try not to feel bad, these things happen sometimes. I would say just keep an eye on him, make sure he is eating, drinking and pooing as normal. Also make sure he isn't limping. I'm sure he'll be fine :)

This is not your fault at all. You must have got a shock you poor thing. You may want to get a vet to examine him just to be sure nothing happened.

today

today he seems to be fine, pretty happy, was singing for his morning hay, sat for a little cuddle and happily went out to his outdoor run for the day with his brother, so i am thinking he is alright ,although i keep watching his walking around, but i do that anyway cant take my eyes off them sometimes,to cute. will keep an eye but i think we have been lucky :)

Hi Stacy and welcome to the forum to you and your little ones :)
Please put some pigtures up of your boys....... we have a stories and photo's section :)
awwwwwwww i'm so sorry to hear what happened, but as the others have said.....it's something that can happen...... it's totally an instinct (i had to rescue one of my kids from falling down stairs once and grabbed their legs!...... he's now 25)
I hope your little one is ok (sorry don't know their names) x)
GOOD LUCK
Hope you join in more in the forum
