Can’t operate due to location but she is only nearly 3 and her sister will be devastated if we loose her. Vets can only offer palliative care now so wondered if there are any natural treatments or suggestions anyone here may have? Trying to feed the best/right fresh stuff and dried herbs, started her on dried coneflower which with gerbils at least seems to take the suffering out of it so they pass peacefully but I want to do all I can to treat her if possible. She has a golf ball size left sided abdominal lump (kidney/ovary area) but is quite happy in herself. Many thanks

I’m sorry you’ve had a terminal diagnosis. What matters now is quality of life.
What are her symptoms? Is she in pain? Have the vets given you any pain relief? Is she eating normally?
I’m not sure what you mean by treating with natural treatments as I am unclear what symptoms you are trying to alleviate.

Thanks for your reply, just wondered if there were any strong opinions or thoughts on anything that could slow the tumour growth, or obviously preferably shrink it, I know it’s probably a daft question but I thought it was worth a shot as I love her to bits :(
No pain, I am concerned about her appetite though. Perfectly happy as long as she’s with her sister! Given lots of treats alongside usual food and hay (extra fresh food, dried herbs from p@h etc) so she can take her pick. The other 3 must think they’ve landed on another planet 😆 I’ve got an oral syringe just in case but she happily chomped down a good bit of cucumber today and some other bits and pieces so I’m just watching - with close communication with the vets.

Maybe a second opinion? Just to be sure there aren't any other suggestions! Sorry for your diagnosis. 😔

Thanks for the thought, she’s already under two very good (and caring) vets, it’s just too close to too many major blood vessels and it’s most likely she’d bleed out if they tried to remove it. Happily it may not be affecting the kidney function as it’s not coming from the kidney, and obviously she has another. Just have to hope to slow growth and keep her munching as she is currently. Going to keep trying natural stuff and weekly checkups to see how it plays out.
I keep asking myself why she’s got it so young. Can’t understand it. And I’m worried about her sister when the time comes as they are inseparable even though they live with two others from another littler.

So sorry you’ve had such a rotten diagnosis.
You have time now to build precious memories and cherish the time you have left.
Remember that a terminal diagnosis also starts the grieving process. Be gentle with yourself.
We’re here to support you

Thank you, I needed that reminder. She’s such a sweetie, love her to bits :(

So sorry to hear your news. I understand totally how you feel. Wish there was something I could do it say to make things better, it's so hard. Take lots of pictures and build a memory box collection.
Sending you hugs.x
