I came upstairs to check on the piggies (I do this all the time no matter what because I love to see their little faces) and there was a hornet buzzing around in my room and it was by the guinea pig cage. It must have flown in through the downstairs window and we've never had an experience with a hornet where we live so I was really confused. I don't normally kill insects but he was buzzing around the guinea pigs and seemed angry so I splatted him. I've checked the piggies over and I think they're fine but does anyone know what a hornet sting can do to a piggie or if it would sting them at all. I've had a wasp sting my dog before so? I know that to humans hornet stings are worse than a bee or wasp sting so does anyone know anything? I'm 100% sure my piggies are ok as I've checked them over thoroughly.

Can insects sting piggies, and if they can, what can a hornet sting do? xx

edited to add - after reading this through, I realized I called it insect bites instead of insect stings. Sorry xx

I can't image a hornet would sting a piggy, it goes after anything it feels threatened by and I'm pretty sure the piggies would just run away or freeze in fear :))
