I was just wondering if anyone knows if you can get pet insurance for Guinea pigs i am a little curious as some people can get very sick piggies and was thinking maybe it would help if there piggies were insured?

I can remember a thread about insurance a while back.....it was either really expensive or very difficult to find or both ::)
I put some money away every week in the "piggy Pot" for emergencies
someone else might know ?

ok well if been huting around just there and cant find a thing for them i might ask my vet when I'm in next week see if he can tell me.

I was quoted £399.00 for 6 pigs, just put in a pot and use as need be. :)

i think i will do that as i have 9 piggies but 5 of them are babys not even two weeks old from 2 seperate litters

I have a piggie pot ;) I have 8 piggies and the pot gets used every so often twice in last year for an ermergency and once for a neuter ;)

ok could someone tell me roughly how much it is 2 get a male neutered?

I think it's about £40 ,but I guess it depends on where you live and which vet you use.
Is that why you wanted to get insurance ? :)

well yes in a way i also wanted insurance just incase something happens in the future you never know what is around the corner well i am in the vet next week anyway so i will ask him how much it would cost.

I don't think neutering is covered by insurance, well it isn't on my dogs, good luck at the vets next week O0

hi i went to the vets yesterday and they told me it would be £45 to get him neutured
but they wont do that until hes 6 months old?

Just what I was thinking. Check carefully before you get insurance. I'd just put some money away each month.

yeah i think i will do that i dont no how many males i have in total as i have 5 baby's and still cant till the sex the older two baby's from the first litter i know theres a boy in that litter so in total i have 3 boys but marbles baby's who aren't even a week old I'm not sure on the sex on them yet so it would cost a fortune getting them nurtured >:(

Start putting money away now then! Lol!

I have been quoted up to £60 for nuetering. To be honest though, I'm willing to pay it if I have confidence in the vet. I'd rather spend lots, then get it done cheaper and worry.

lol I'm not sure if i will get them done but if need be for any reason i will do
