Hi, I have insurance with exotic direct, it costs around £17 a month for my two pigs, insured up to £2000 treatment within 12 months. I have to pay the first £50. However, I didn't get this insurance until I had my pigs nearly a year so one of them has exclusions. To give you an idea though, one of my pigs has just received a vet bill of £307 - this included vet consultation, anaesthetic, X ray, blood test, urine test, bladder procedure, nurse consultation and medicines. And yes this is the pig with exclusions, so although I have sent the form in I may not receive it. Also the vet warned me that some pigs like mine might need a bladder flush every 3 months, which I figure will cost at least £200. Putting a strain on our finances, to put it mildly!

Exotic Direct. I took this out after spending £500 in 2 months on one of my boys.

Definitely worth it in my opinion.

Exotic direct, as far as I'm aware, is the only UK insurance company to insure guinea pigs.

I've just had a payout of just over £1500 for one of my pigglies
