I have been considering this for awhile. I think that Buddy is the most intelligent guinea pig I've met. For example, Basil stole his spot in his favourite tent. Instead of charging in Buddy sits and considers it, then goes round the back of the tent and reaches up, then squashes it flat. Basil goes dashing deciding not to sit in the piggy eating tent and Buddy gets his spot back. He can chew the cage clips to open and let himself out of the cage, climb stairs (supervised of course) and comes when called or gets back in his cage when told to "go home"

What I want to know is does anyone have any very intelligent piggies? Can you think of ways to entertain him? I've tried loads of different games but he always works it out and gets bored before the others have even noticed it!

Also, any ideas how to test his intelligence. I love having a clever one, but he drive me nuts sometimes! So demanding

Would love to see a video of the great escape... :))

In the second one Buddy doesn't even leave the cage because he knows if he wants his veggies he needs to be in there! Basil likes getting out, cheeky sod! It was Buddy that led him astray

They are driving me nuts letting themselves out of their cages now! I'm have to tie them shut!

Guinea pigs do learn fast and they can be trained the same as any other animal, I did some clicker training with my two, it's really easy to teach them tricks - have a look on youtube for ideas.
