Hey. So this is our current cage for our two piggies.
Now. This is as large a cage they did in Pets at Home. And for the time being. It's pretty much all the space we have (at the weekend we do put them in a larger 'pen' -however that pretty much takes up half our flat...so weekends only. - see picture...with one escaped piggie!)

I'm just after some ideas on 're-modelling'

The plastic interior housing - Shall I get rid of that and put in a little house to liberate a bit extra space -

Does the cage measure 117cm long? If so it is a 120 and fine for two piggies as long as they get the floor time in your lovely looking run!

I would remover the plastic and put two wooden large play sticks in as houses.

I would remove the plastic insert. I found they take up too much room, and make it difficult to catch piggies as to take it out you have to take the bars off the cage bottom. Seperate houses are much easier, log tunnels are good as has already been suggested as they have two escape routes incase of disagreements.
That piggy looks very determined in it's escape bid. :luv:

I was wondering if there is a house / bridge? I could place at the back? Sleep in the house, run over the bridge?

I don't know other than the log bridges/tunnel type things. If you go for those don't get the naturals ones like in Pets at Home if your piggies are jumpers and likely to walk/sit on it, I had a piggie catch his foot in one of the gaps and wrench his leg.
These are safer, I get mine in the Range.

Any thoughts / links to a couple of houses?

There are a some I highly recommend on Amazon. They are already treated, but are quite costly.

They are also flat on top (extra floor space) and have two entrances 😊
