I just introduced my 3 month old female guinea pig to my two 1 year old females. I followed all the right steps and quarantined the new one for 2 weeks. Then introduced them in a large area for 6 hours or so. They followed each other around a little bit but seemed to get along pretty well. I cleaned the whole cage with vinegar and rearranged everything. They’ve now been living together for 3 days. And my dominant one still continues to chase around the new one and jump at her. I’m wondering how long it takes for old guineas to fully get used to having a new one around. My new guinea pig is also extremely noisy. The others rarely make noise, but she is squeaking almost non stop. I believe it is a happy noise because she has always done this even while quarantined. I’ve been giving them lots of floor time yet the new guinea won’t stop getting next to the others and also squeaking. I think maybe the others are just annoyed with her. Sorry this is really long, this is my first thread. 😂 I was hoping some of you would have some advice. I really don’t want to have to separate them.

That all sounds perfectly normal to be honest, and you did the introduction perfectly.
Young piggies are often quite vocal and dramatic, and it sounds like your older girls are just reminding her who is in charge.

A good place to start for some great videos is here:
Bonding and Interaction: Illustrated social behaviours and bonding dynamics

I find being able to watch a video of specific behaviours really helps to work out what is ok and what is not.
But your girls sound like they are doing fine.

Thank you! I'm happy to hear that it is normal behavior! :)

Very much normal and it can take a few weeks for hierarchy to be established and dominance behaviours to calm down. It all sounds very positive so far though
