After the 2-3 week quarantine period is over, I will be introducing a 2-year-old to my 2-month-old. Has anyone ever introduced 2 sows with that much of an age difference?

I may have missed something when reading the guides, but I didn't see any factor in that much of an age difference or size difference. The 2-year-old was a mother not too long ago, so I didn't know if that would provide a different dynamic upon introduction (for better or for worse).

I'm sure the 2-year-old will be dominant, just judging by the size. The guides were helpful, and this question may have already been answered before, but I just want to know if these different factors will affect the dynamics any more than what the guidelines already covered.

Sorry again if these questions are redundant

Hi! Age is pretty immaterial compared to mutual liking and character compatibility.

I have introduced 5-6 weeks old babies to 2-3 year old piggies more than once - the last time in December. My so far biggest age gap was 5 year old Tesni, who fell head over heals with 5 months old Gethin; they are still very happily together aged 7 resp. 2 years old.

Let your two sows get used to each other through the bars for some days first, especially if neither is used to piggy company - the latter can often result in some fear-aggressive behaviour during bonding.

Welcome to the forum. Never apologise for asking questions. We’re all here to help each other.
I bonded a 3 year old sow with 2 babies- 12 weeks old.
There was a lot of squeaking and posturing but my older lady Merab took to the little ones almost instantly. She mothered them although she’s never had a litter and they moved themselves in together that first day.
Merab is the dominant sow in a placid, laid back sort of way, Keziah likes to think shr’s The boss and Jemimah knows her place.
Hope the bonding goes well for you- don’t worry about seeming aggression unless blood is drawn.
Do let us know how things work out and post pictures
