Hello, I'mgoing to pick up a new satin pig today and the woman at the rescue says I don't need to bring my pigs because I'm experienced- I'm not experienced.

Yes, I've done a lot of research but I've never had to do this before and I'm freaking out, anyone willing to run me through the process? Is it okay to put them in their usual cage after they meet?

Also I have an unnutered bore in an attatched cage waiting to get neutered, does that complicate things?
Thanks in advance :)

@Eviolus- There's a bonding guide on the forum.

I'd bond them in a neutral area and once you're happy then put them in the cleaned cage.

You'll need to make sure the unneutered boar can't get to them.

As mentioned above the bonding guide is fab. I also just wanted to mention that it would be worth researching the breed as satins come with health issues so it would be worth considering as vet bills will be a big factor, especially with a big herd. Do you know how old she is? Idk if the rescue is familiar with the breed and have given advice.

Just though I’d tag @Wiebke as she knows a lot about satins and the condition (osteodystrophy).

Don't worry I know about osteodystrophy, part of why I'm taking her is she's struggling to get adopted. She's around 1 and a half years old and isn't showing any signs yet :) The rescue does know about the breed too
