I have 2 adorable 8 week old sows Charity&Chastity 2 lilac creams.
I am considering adopting another 3 year old sow who lives alone. What are the chances that Rose would get on with my 2 babies?

Hi Dibs,

The age isn't always an issue to be honest, and I added a young sow to older girlies with no problems.

You can't just put them together though, they need to be "bonded" and that requires a neutral zone with no other smells etc in large area and some distractions like food! and time.

There is thread on the forum for bonding furries, I don't have the link to hand but it's worth checking it out.

Sorry for the short message, I'm at work currently and just finishing my lunchbreak. mallethead

Thanks

For your help.I would love to rescue a lonely sow, as I always think its sad for piggies on their own because they are sociable, I don't understand people having a lone piggie.
Cheers

If possible, arrange a meeting on neutral ground between the older girl and your two. With sows you usually see quickly (within half an hour) whether they click or not.

I find that taking your time with settling in a piggy next door to their new friends takes some additional pressure off the bonding proper; piggies tend to go less on overload and react aggressively out of fear.

Personally, I am a big believer of dating any single or couples at a rescue to make sure that they get along before I commit. It saves quite a lot of headaches if you do not have to come up with a plan B!
