Ok.. so i thought i'd better post on here and introduce my two new girls.. i basically succumbed to two gorgeous beauties from the adoption section in pets at home.. i never buy animals on impulse but these two were so special i made an exception just this once (its a good job i had lots of spare cage furnishings, water bottles and bowls at home already! and i already had a spare indoor cage.. i basically couldnt talk myself out of not taking them!)rolleyes

I havent taken any proper pictures of them yet because i want them to settle in properly but i took a couple of quick ones so that i could post on here..
i am IN LOVE! Its really cute aswell as they are in the same room as my other 4 girls and they sometimes wheek at eachother:)

What do you think?:)):)):))

AWWWW - a little red/black aby!

I wouldn't have been able to pass her up, either... My Mischief was one as well.

Two very lovely girls!

They are beauties! I love Their colouring - very pretty indeed!

Aww mischief is an adorable name! did she live up to that name by any chance? :)
although i think every guinea is a bit mischievious ;)

Jezebelle is so lovely although seems petrified, she does come out and investigate her cage all the time as does betty but whereas betty will eat on me and doesnt mind being held, jezebelle does everything in her power to escape, this morning she went up my dressing gown sleeve, i let her stay there for a bit but it was a bit of a challenge retrieving her when it was time for her to go back into her cage. she also wont stay still on me at all and constantly tries to hide her face from me by burying it under my arm, or under anything she can use really, clothes, chin, material - ive never had such a scared guinea pig, i think it'll take her a while to come round (and i hope that she does as i would hate to think i was putting her through trauma everytime i held her!)

hopefully if i spoil them with snuggly beds, treats and cuddles they will settle in and be happy soon:)

I'm sure they'll come round...probably haven't been handled much/in the right way if they were in the adoption section.

They're gorgrous though! :)

oh what a pretty little Abys.... I have one too and am so afraid to look at the rescue sections as I might just not be able to resist either! My bf says NO! :) But he isnt Serious....lol He sneeks them treats all the time! and calls himself Daddy.... :)

Oh they're pretty. They'll come around given time, don't worry ;)

Our Pippa has a bit of a thing about sleeves too :))

hehe aw I'm pleased to hear that jez is not the only one who likes sleeves, none of my other girls have ever done it! my rats do, but then rats like to climb everywhere:)
jezebelle took lettuce from my hand last night, which i think is a huge step considering she is so scared and tries to escape me all the time when i hold her, i just have to remember to have patience;)

i know its so hard isnt it, i always look at the adoption sections in pets at home, mainly just because i love looking at animals but also to check whether they are ok and being looked after properly, and i often see gorgeous guineas but have been able to resist, i just couldnt this time! luckily my boyfriend is understanding, i suppose its a good thing really considering a work on a childrens farm and in london zoo as a keeper volunteer, i CONSTANTLY talk about animals LOL. I'm definitely not getting anymore animals though as i spend all my time looking after the ones i have, it wouldnt be fair on any new additions or on the ones i have already if i got anymore so i will have to resist the adoption sections even more now! @)
