Adult Guinea Pig
Here are our new piggies!
We took Spike to the rescue in Southampton on Monday to choose a friend and he chose Hector.
We decided to adopt another two guinea pigs to be their neighbours as Anna who runs the rescue said we have more than enough room.
A piglet called Pepper came running out squeaking at Mike so we decided to take Salt and Pepper home as well, now renamed Gerry and George.
The only problem was I couldn't get a lovely pig called Bob out of my mind so Anna said we could have a go at introducing him to Spike and Hector. A trio doesn't often work but both Bob and Spike are so laid back there's a good chance.
Anna looked after them all until today to make sure they bonded and thankfully it was a success so she brought them up this afternoon and settled them in to their new home.
It was lovely, as she came in and saw the set up she said " You've landed on your feet here boys!"
Her and all the girls that help her out are especially happy that Bob has his own home finally. He's nearly 2 and always lived at the rescue and keeps being over looked because he has diabeties. I couldn't let him spend his whole life in a rescue.
George managed to break his front teeth off a few days ago, they're growing back nicely but it's quite an effort to eat so he's having dinner on my lap so Gerry doesn't scoff it all. Parsley and kale seem to be going down very well, he should be able to eat again properly in a week or so but for now everything is being cut up into very small pieces.
Hope you like the photos, they're not brilliant, I wanted to give them chance to settle in before I bothered them with more photos!
