Hello, I'm new to this forum, (literally just joined!) but as I am a member of the rabbit forum aswell, I know that as soon as you've registered, people demand to see pictures, so I thought I would just put some on of Buster! :))
He's my first ever guinea pig, and I'm hoping to get some advice on how to make him the happiest little pig ever x)

He's hard to catch (very fast!) but fairly easy to handle. He is very timid and shy, but will settle down after being cuddled for a while. Hopefully one day he'll realise that I'm no-one to be afraid of!
 
Welcome, your Buster is a lovely boy, handle him lots and give him little treats on your lap and he will get to know you and relax more. I have 4 boys, I've had them just over a year and 3 are just fine, but one still runs around like a loony when I go to pick him up. It's an inborn reflex with guinea pigs to run for safety when hands from above come to get them, so don't worry it's nothing your doing wrong.

Buster is such a gorgeous boy! Have you thought about finding him a friend in a rescue? Guinea pigs do live in groups and need company of their own; you will enjoy the guinea pig conversations which make them so unique amongst rodents!

We have lots of information in our reference section as well as the top of the other sections. it's really worth having a good browse and snoop around the forum.
