Introducing guinea pigs

Hi everyone!
I'm after some advice please, if anyone has any to give! I currently have three single guinea pigs - it's a long story, but they were all with a partner and lived with another piggie. For one reason or another, they are all now bereaved and alone. I was planning that they could all live together (I have one neutered male, two females) but I'm worried about the introductions. Is there a best way to go about it? They are all adults now, so is it going to work at all, or should I get three baby guineas to live with each of them?!
Any suggestions will be gratefully received!
 
I wouldnt get 3 babies firstly, they may not bond at all with yur older guineas so you will then have 6 lonely pigs on your hands leaving you needing more cages, and when your 3 pigs you have now pass on then your baby piggers will be left on their own and you'll be in the same situation again.

how old are your adult gp's?

look on www.barmy4boars.co.uk for bonding boars, ive never bonded a pair with a sow so i wouldnt know how to go about that, it all needs to be done on neutral territory if your going to bond so none of the guinea pigs scent is around, some say give a buddy bath but it does depend how old yoour piggies are if they are old a bath may be stressful, having said that so might trying to bond them.

maybe you could house them next to each other with a grid in-between them so they get the company but dont live in each others space? some people find this works best for them but it just depends how much room you have for cages etc..
 
It is possible to group this trio together to start off with I would put them all into a large outdoor run sectioned off so they can see hear and smell each other. Hils78 managed to get two fisty girls to bond with a neutered boar pm her I am sure she can tell you how she did it in the end. I know the Sows gave her heaps of problems but now they live very happily in a group :)
 
Hi & welcome Sunnyme :)

I've not had sows but they are usually easier to bond then boars. As you have a boar aswell this should hopefully help even more as in the wild they live in herds of one boar & up to about nine sows.

It will depend on the personalities of the piggies but hopefully it will work out for you. Good Luck, let us know how it goes. O0
