Introducing 'Keith' the reason i couldn't come to Debbie's open day

He is 5 and a half months old and he is a swiss guinea pig. I have never had a swiss pig before! He has the most perfect ears! There are no rips or anything!

I wasn't sure about getting a black pig as i struggle with their claws, but if Muffin is happy then that's all that matters!

When he is a bit older i will get him castrated so that when Muffin goes 'Keith' can live with my girl pigs.

He came with the name but i might change it. My sister reckons he should have a swiss name, but i am not sure what!

Any suggestions for names appreciated!

He's a cutie! Great that the two boys are getting along well!

By the way he is nearly as big as Muffin already, so i think he is going to be a big boy! I have tried to find out about swiss pigs, but I can't really find that much out.

Also they are both using the ramp in their cage, so i have knitted them a blanket for the top of their ramp! Mind you, now i have no job imagine what other guinea pig things i could knit. LOL! x

Stunning boy x) x) So pleased they are getting along so well

If you want Swiss names ro names with Swiss, you could go for Heidi's friend Peter or William (Tell).
Bernhard (Bernard) and Ulrich/Ueli (pronounced Ooly) are traditional names with a Swiss flavour, too.
Mostly we use regular German, French or Italian names in Switzerland depending on the language you are speaking.

If you want it exotic, you could give Keith a Romansh name from the fourth language spoken in Switzerland by 1% of the population in a few Alpine valleys in the South East (and a few adjoining Austrian valleys, too).
Andrin (andrew), Corsin (from the Italian Corsini nobles), Curdin (pronounced Coordin = Kurt), Fadri (Freddy), Flurin (Floorin = Florian), Gion (pronounced John), Giosch (josh), Linard (leonard), Niculin (NI-koolin = Nicholas), Pirmin (after a Roman martyr/saint Firminius), Reto (from the name of the Roman province), Viturin (VEE-toorin = Victor).

My Rosie has some swiss in her we have been told. She is so soft and laid back, and is a complete lazy pig in her old age sleeping anywhere she can.
You may find he needs brushing fairly regularly, particularly near his bottom.
He is gorgeous and I'm glad they are getting along well :)

I have been told to brush him with a comb everyday. Luckily he is very good with it!

Weibke thanks for the names i will have a proper look at them later. I have just got in after having a lovely lunch with my dad and granddad.

Aaww, gorgeous, my hubbies name is Keith so quite amusing to see a guinea pig with the same name! I have a guinea boy with Swiss breed in, he is lovely and soft

Aww, he's lovely, they both are. :) So glad they are getting along well.

Not entirely swiss.. but I've always wanted to call a pig HANS VON GRUBERSTANK! but I think that's probably bordering animal cruelty. I'd just love to make my vet call that out in a busy waiting room.
