Ok, so I went in Pets at home today (I know boo hiss) for some bits and went browsing over the adoptions centre. I had NO INTENTION of coming home with a piggy. There where a group of separated boys in there which were beautiful, but then I came across Mario. On his own, weeping away as I spoke to him, with red eyes and poor eye sight. He'd been brought in because his brother and cage make kept attacking him and they didn't want him anymore. So anyway I ended up bringing him home. My plan is to neuter him and introduce him to my ladies. They didn't have any info on him at all apart from 'he's a boy he's not neutered' and the reason he came in. He is adult but looks fairly young adult to me. A beautiful boy, very shy but wheeks like hell when you rustle anything for grubs. His eye's aren't too good but they are clear and bright. Anyway enough yammering, here he is :)

Awww, he's lovely. His pose in that last photo is especially cute. I think he is a potential mischief maker once he has settled in! He must be thanking his lucky stars that you popped in for a few bits today! :D

He's lovely. Have a look on the recommended vets locator for a vet ear you. It is best to use a vet that has done the operation many times.

I've had a look at the vet locator, closest is Liverpool which is no problem. I'm going to give him some time to settle first and then i'll start the planning :)

Oh my word he's a real stunner Ruth :love:
You have joined our red eyed piggy club Hun...:wel:
I would of done the same, well done for giving him a great second chance your lovely ladies will love him to bits I'm sure of that

Oh my he's beautifully stunning. I'm not surprised you weren't able to resist him. He'll be extremely happy with your ladies I'm sure.

I would have brought him home too! He is stunning, and he does look a little sad - which I'm sure will be a turn around very soon with you! :)

So cute, and very fortunate to have you as his human friend! :agr: with @Caviequeen that people bring piggies back to wherever they got them is absolutely not fair to the innocent guinea pig.

Thankyou everyone :) I've not seen him all night, he's spent it tucked away when we've been around but he has been out as he's polished off his veggies and some hay. It was just the way his little face peeked out his hut in the tank and he was wheeking at me. He kept going over to the veg they had put in his tank which was some flimsy looking cabbage which obviously wasn't very appealing! In the evening he's eaten a tiny bit of kale, some romaine lettuce, celery cucumber and a tad of pepper and polished off his plate. Loved it! As soon as he's settled he'll be booked in to be neutered :)

Mario is gorgeous  he has found the most perfect home with you and his soon to be Wifey piggies, can't wait to hear and see more about him

He's such a cutie but very very timid. He'll soon come around though :)

I will do :) I'll start sorting out vets this week with a view to do it towards the end of the month when he's settled and used to me and then he'll be happy with me for aftercare etc :)

He is quite chilled once he's out of his house. I do think his eyesight is really poor though :(

He will be just fine even if they are poor as you will be able to offer him the love and support he will need Ruth. There was a post about piggies with loss of sight I was reading it a few weeks ago. They say to always keep their cage/ hutch the same so they remember the layout :)
