Hi All,

I like to show you my boy-group

This is Schnitzel, he was abandoned in a parking lot (in Germany) and I picked him up.
He behaves more like a dog then a guinea pig and is the sweetest guy ever.

This is Barney, he is from a littler from a female rescue last year. I love his crest.
In his littler was 7 babies, so I had to help with hand-feeding them. He was the smallest one.

These are the others from the same litter, but they are looking for new homes.

what a handsome group

They look like they have a lovely large space to run around in. Do they all get on OK together?

I currently have 3 boys, 3 brothers aged 8 weeks, maybe a little older. Its really lovely to see a group of 4 boys together ;) Could you possibly offer some advice as to how you have been successful with a group of bonded boys. I am aware that I could possibly run into problems in the near future with my lot so would be really lovely to hear some positive tips ;) xx

Sure I can.

Sozialisation:
I had 3 brothers as well and I put a adult boar with them when they were small. This way they learn how to behave and in the first weeks (by me until they were 4 month old), they know the adult one is the boss. Then it will be around 2-3 weeks long, they will discuss the new structure and most likely one of the small ones will be the boss. In this time its important, that they have around the clock enough vegetables and hay to eat, so that even while the dispute no guinea pig loosing weight. You need to check daily during this phase if a guinea pig is hurt bad. Little scratches are normal, and you don't need to worry about them. But do not separate them in this time!
Afterwards they normally will be fine together again.
Even if you don't get an adult boar, they will have a dispute phase.

Over all, it is important NOT to have ANY females in the same room and to wash the hands etc before you do something with the male if you touched a female before.

ALL hideaways, houses etc need to have 2 entrances, if not it can be a real reason to have big fights! There should be No dead ends. And have at least 4 houses/hides (for 3 guinea pigs ) or 5 (for 4 guinea pigs).

Also there should be more then 1 place to have hay. And it is good if its just on the ground, so they can eat from more sides.

I hope that helps you!
