I have a 5 month old boar, Elliot who I have had since he was a baby and a few weeks ago I got a new baby boar who is almost 3 months old, Oscar.

I got Oscar to keep Elliot company as my old boy, George who is aged 5, likes Elliot to play with at carpet time, but to put them to live together wouldn't work. George likes his own space, is extremely territorial and can only bear Elliot for a short time. George thinks he's a dog rather than a piggy. A pig-dog :))

Elliot is extremely social and thus I bought home Oscar. I am going to introduce them slowly over carpet time at the weekend then move Oscar in with Elliot but I was hoping for some tips because i've never done this before and I know boars are a bit riskier for living together than sows.

Here's hoping for harmonious living :)

Best of luck!

You can do as much pre-intro through the mesh/bars time, but once you have committed to an intro, you need to sit out unless there are bloody fights or extreme bullying. Any intervention from you means that the bonding protocol is interrupted and has to be started all afresh.

Here is a sticky threat about boar behaviour at the top of the behaviour section, so you can judge yourself how well it is going. Chasing, humping and (mild) teeth chattering are pretty par for the course.

Hopefully, all will go well!
