I have a cute little Guinea Pig, he is a boar called Seti and he is nearly 1 year old. He has been very ill this year suffering from 2 kidney infections, the vet even thought that he might be diabetic at one point. He lacks Vitamin C yet has too much calcium. I have tried getting him to eat all sorts of veggies but he is stuck on broccoli or apple only, he is such a fussy eater.

I am looking forward to Christmas this year as it will be my first with my little Seti Pig. He has an advent calendar from pets at home and has a homemade stocking. I live alone and suffer with depression so this year will be so nice to have someone to share it with.

I want to find Seti a sow who he could mate with as I would love to own one of his sons.

I hope you find him as cute as I do. He has also learnt how to kiss and how to shake hands for a treat. He is a very clever Piggy!

Jenny and Seti

Hi Jenny, welcome to the forum. It's really lovely to hear about your piggy Seti. I hope he will now be on the mend and have a great christmas with you. The photo of him is gorgeous.
We cannot advise you on here about breeding, as this is a pro rescue forum, and sadly many of our rescues are as a result of breeding gone wrong in some way. Our rules state that we don't get involved.
Perhaps Seti may like a little rescue baby boy as a pal, then you would have the joy of watching them get to know each other and play together.
Have a mooch around the forum, and enjoy talking 'pig' to us all. We all love chattering about our guineas.

Hiya!

Welcome to the forum - you may have seen in the logo that we are a rescue friendly forum so talking about breeding is against the rules. Sadly, we have to deal far too often with the horrible results of careless breeding and what multiple ten week pregnancies do the poor sows!

Why don't you see whether you can adopt a baby boy from a rescue for Seti instead? That way, you do not have to provide for a sow and any girls or extra boys, but you can be sure that any possible kidney problems/weakness can't be inherited. I'm sure that Seti would appreciate a young friend!

He looks like a very gorgeous and personable boy!

Sorry I was completely oblivious to the breeding rule, I won't mention it again! I think a rescue piggie would be a perfect addition to the family.

Good for you! Maybe you could place a request in the Rescue and Rehoming wanted section. Good luck in your search. Also look at the Guineapig rehome link at the bottom of this page.xx

HI and a welcome. Seti is gorgeous. Piggies can fill your life with joy and I'm glad you have Seti to love and care for. I hope you find a new companion for Seti and I'm looking forward to seeing you around the forum...

He looks like a very sweet boy (very similar colours to my Wispa), love the name Seti as well!xoxo
I have some fussy eaters and I just put peppers etc into the cage every day for weeks, taking it out later, and eventually they started to eat it. Now they can't get enough!

Seti is a very handsome boy and can understand why you are so taken with him. Hope his health woes are all well and truly behind him and good luck in finding a friend for him. I can promise you it is a wonderful feeling to give a rescue piggy and new home and to see them settle in and enjoy their new life.

Seti is gorgeous, I hope you find him a lovely piggy friend.

He's a dead-ringer for my Podge too!
