We made a long trip up to Keighley to visit Milhaven yesterday to find Suilven a new mate and came homewith a very lovely young man called Wilfred! (He will be renamed once we find a gaelic/scots name to suit him). Thanks to Joanne at Milhaven for all her hard work and help.

We had a great time meeting all the piggies including the not-so-little 'cloud babies' and having plenty of cuddles with Melanie, little Annie, Reuben & Seth and the Royal babies. They were all gorgeous especially little Andrew who we would have loved to take home too. There are so many special piggies there waiting for a home it's a pity we couldn't squeeze in a few more!

But we came home with this handsome chap!

He is very settled already although he doesn't like vet bed much! He has been used to living on hay and lilac vet bed just isn't any good! So he has taken to pushing all the hay out of the hay tray and made it into a pile before falling asleep on it! Since then he has decided it's just easier to sleep in the hay tray so I may have to install a second one so Suilvy can have some hay to munch that isn't under his buddy!

Sport_billy (& Mrs SB!) you are very welcome to visit.... I will ransack the diary and provide you with a selection of suitable dates :)

Great news..gorgeous boys.. drooldroolxoxoxoxo

That smile! drool gorgeous! They're both so cute and gorgeous and the one on the left cheeky little chappy!

We have 2 boys reserved! But they won't be coming home until Oct....soooo excited! :)..... off to see them at 4.30! :)

Is it the lovely Seth & Reuben? I had heard they were reserved! And very lovely they are too!

What a lovely pair they make. They look so content together.

Our new boy is settling in well. He is a real explorer, very squiggly but very pleased to be living with Suilven, they love to snuggle and are rarely found further than 6 inches away from each other!

He isn't however very keen on vet bed.... he has been used to sleeping in hay and doesn't like this fluffy stuff in the cage! On the first night he decided the best plan was to empty the hay tray and sleep on the resulting pile of hay instead. Since then he has decided that just sleeping/living in the hay tray, away from the nasty, comfy vet bed is safer ;) We are just learning what he does and doesn't like and that he likes to climb and chew a lot (like his downstairs menace neighbour Angus) so floor time is fun with an eternal cry of 'No, don't eat that!' and 'Get out of there!' from both of us. He is inciting Suilven to badness too! We certainly have our hands full but it is so nice to see Suilven happy and relaxed with a new friend, he is very much a sociable little guy and really thrives on company. He just gets quiet and miserable on his own. There is no way we could ever have him alone for more than a week or two so well done Joanne for spotting 'Wilfred' and reserving him for us. It was absolutely the right thing to do!

It sounds like your new boy, is beginning to show his character and its wonderful that Suilven has perked-up too. Sounds like your going to have so much joy watching them interact and deciding who's the instigator, if its anything like our lot its never clear who's what...;)

Have you had any thoughts on what your going to change your new boys name too ?/

Found this website maybe helpful... http://www.gaelicnames.co.uk/gaelic-boys-names.htm

They're coming home on Oct 16th...as we've got a short break away just before then.....but don't you worry there will be lots of pics!

(sorry for hijacking your thread...oops!) :)

Well I think we've finally picked a name for our new addition - Struan (pronounced Stroo-an). At the moment he is very much a smelly boy so often known as 'stinky Struan' :)
