Tallulah was collected from Hull Rabbit Rescue today, she came down from the North in as part of an RSPCA confiscation, HRR got 9 of the 22 rescued piggies. I was very very happy to get a new girl, and we named her Talullah in the car on the way home. She is a little dark brown scruffy girl, with rosettes in her fur.
The 20 minute drive gave me time to rub her with a damp towel that my other four girls had been 'using' so it had their scent all over it. Behind the ears and on the bottom especially. When she was put into the run (after a quick examine looking for pests) she made for the fleece that hangs in a kind of tent and hid. (My piggies have rather a lot of the conservatory floor)

It took her a while to come out and look for food, during this time Carmeline (you can just see her ginger nose) who is the oldest and top pig inspected her without any ructions or comments.

I put out veg to avoid them all charging over to harass the newcomer - I wanted there to be gradual introductions. But she made her way out shyly....

Then the others noticed her and introduced themselves.

Lola, who was the last to introduce herself, decided to take on the role of mum and has been guarding and protecting her ever since. (This shows Lola's face and talullah's bottom under the fleece tent)

All is going very well, I think there should be no problems.
I would like to point out that if you are uncertain about the origin of your piggy then do have a quarantine period before introducing them to your other piggies. I felt it wasn't necessary with this one.

She's lovely as are all your piggies x) glad the introductions went wel!

Tallulah is lovely. Glad she is settling in well with her new friends. :)

Aww what a cutie. I will have to pop round and meet her.

Thank you for all the comments. She is gaining confidence, starting to wander about a bit now. Lola had to prod her over to the hay tray this morning, but she is improving. She is getting baby favours from all the girls, they are all allowing her to take food from their mouths and not taking away her food. (We call this baby favours.)

Lola is proving to be a good and caring surrogate mum, she is doing very well by her little girl. This is Lola's first time at this role. The bond will fade as Talullah grows in confidence and size, but for now I will be cuddling the pair of them together.

Talullah is healthy, has had her toe nails cut, but I have no idea about her age. I am guessing at four months. She will need to get used to grass before being allowed a long time on the lawn - which means there will be outright rebellion on my hands when I try to pick the other girls back out of the run after just five minutes next time!

Come see her whenever you like Rachel!

Aw your piccys made me smile, beautiful x
