Let me introduce you to my pigs. Well eight of them, number nine is comming home this weekend.

Pompoentje, three year old girl.

Before pictures are taken after a freind of mine who rescued her already fixed her up. When I got her in June her weight was 1100gram at that point. A good weight for a regular sided pig, but Pompoen is a large pig of the Lunkarya breed (big fluffy pigs), so actually she was still underweight at that point.

Now: 1400+ grams of happyness with a shiny furr.

Yeah also her coat grew back. So happy. Wouldn't say now this pig has been abused.

Darwin, a year old castrated boar. Lives with Pompoentje.

Got this little girl from Bob, the son of my boss. He had an unexpected litter because he wasn't sold two boars (brothers) but a brother and sister. Who by the time we found out, had a little too much fun. She was far pregnant by then. I offered immediatly to take in one of the babies if there was a girl born due to the higher risk of health-issues (both parents have been seriously ill). Neither of us expected any satins to be born. I suspected this girl was a satin for months but I wasn't sure untill summer. She had her first x-rays taken 2 months ago and unfortunatly she is already diagnosed with satin-illness in her hind legs.

Hazel, the 4 year old madam:

Hazel also has a past of abuse, but she recovered well. Only still (3 years later) afraid of being picked up suddenly. She's my mothers favourite together with Sneeuwwitje. Those two are really her babies.

Hailey, the pig on diet, 2 years old:

Because of Hailey's extreme weight (1700+ grams). I agreed with the vet to get her on a sugarfree diet (including low sugar feed). She's slowly loosing some fat now. I hope to get her at a healthy weight between 1350 and 1450grams, since she too is a big pig.

Arno, the explorer, 2 years old:

That was all.

I hope it's ok I used this many pictures. :red

Aww - you have a stunning lot and are doing some great work!

My favourite has to be Hazel , but then I have a thing for ginger and white piggies... My Ffowlyn has a similar face. I love your others, too, especially Hailey and Felientje!

Hailey and Felientje are mother and daughter. I got Felientje first as a companion for Bloempje when her old friend passed on, and half a year later I was offered to become Hailey's retirement home. Obiously I couldn't resist, but she gained hard and fast, that's why she's on a diet now. {:|

Thank you for showing your lovely photos, of course you didn't show too many.it's such a shame these gorgeous piggies suffer at the hands of ignorant people. Bless you for doing such a wonderful job.

Felientje, Hailey, Arno, Sneeuwwitje, Bloempje, Hazel, Darwin and Pompoentje WELCOME TO YOU ALL XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Thankyou soooo much for sharing these gorgeous pigtures of them all x)drool

Sorry to hear little Sneeuwwitje has OD :( i have a friend in the Netherlands who's piggie has OD she's done a lot of study on this disease in Satins.

They are gorgeous especially Pompoentje (Pom Pom?) & Snow White, what great names too :))
Pompoentje is Dutch for 'little Pumpkin', her original name was Pumpkin but since my mother cannot pronounce that, we changed it to the Dutch version. Hernickname was Pam at the breeder who rescued, and here it is Pom.

awww, they're gorgeous, there's some crazy hairstyles in your herd x
Haha indeed there are. I always try to have a little of everything with hair (not a fan of hairless pigs). Makes keeping them apart so much easier for the mother. ;)

Oh what an absolutely adorable cavy hotel you have! Can I come and stay hehe:))

Gorgeous piggies x) Hazel is absolutely beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

Wonderful to meet your piggies and thank you for telling us a bit about them all. I loved the photos, definitely not too many!
