I have found myself in the position of being mum to another sow. Pip is 3 months old, and was unwanted as she had red eyes (I LOVE red eyes?!).

I have an established pair with Pumpkin and Pepper, who live very harmoniously with Pepper being the boss. How can I introduce Pip to the girls? I've read that it is much the same with boys, with the neutral territory and such.

I'm now nervous however as I've read a third can really rock the boat! Any tips/advice?

Thank you

Introductions are exactly the same. Neutral area with yor two piggies in then introduce the newbie. How old are Pumpkin and Pepper? Is either one of them particularly dominant?

Pumpkin and Pepper are only about 7 months themselves, and Pepper is the boss but she's no tyrant, they're both pretty laid back and haven't ever had real conflict with each other (even at the height of sorting out who was boss)

Take your time and I think they,ll be fine. Good luck

We introduced an 9 week old piggy to our current pair one week ago. Vimto has accepted her no problem Widget is still chasing her at times as she is a bit bossy as top pig but overall it has gone really well. They are young so I think it would go fairly smoothly.

Introductions went amazingly well, they almost didn't react to her at all for a while, sniffed her a bit and carried on eating the good stuff I'd laid out. Pepper then did her usual and showed them both who was STILL the boss, and they're all very happy. Pumpkin seems to have taken a shine to Pip and she is constantly grooming her and being followed as a result! Pip was terrified and literally didn't move until she was around the others, she's come out of her shell so much already.

I expanded the girls 2x4 to a 2x5 also so they're even happier! They all seem very very happy! Thank you for all of the help. Here's hoping it remains this lovely when Pip hits 'puberty' at 12 weeks.
