to further the sqube range I have been working on something that my pigs will love and hopefully other pigs will too.

Firstly the now finalised working pattern to..........

The Trunnel

this is the last prototype so the ones for sale that I will be making will look much neater, but fleece bottom, stiff sides, still no boning material.

lupin showing you how big it is in relation to piggies - he is huge 1.5kg, my largest boy and largest pig

and to show one of the currently used prototypes in with the herd, silver using it to grab veggies

tyrian checking it out, he got rather excited by the whole thing and popcorned all around it, through it and either side of it

in true testing style he is giving it the tough treatment by taking the side out rolleyes

its open at both ends with two closed in sides so they can use it as a tunnel, a bed or a toy. The fact that both were rather excited about the new toy in their pen is a good sign, they were not as enthusiastic as the trunnel like the herd were, they do love their trunnel. I will let the boys do their best to test it out in only the way they can while I make a few more.

Great new products, pay day needs to hurry me thinks!

Love the piggie models too x) are they included :))

Love that guinea gazebo! My birthday is coming up soon . . . .

How long does it take to make something like that?

day two of the gazebo testing, the boys have been making good use of the gazebo, safe to say its a huge hit with them. But they had tipped it over and sat on the side :)) however, it retained it shape and I have righted it up in the hope they wont tip it over again - it might be them, it might be the other things in the pen, but I will make a second one to give the herd to test run as well.

The plus with the gazebo, being all cotton it shouldnt get as stuck to beddings as fleece products (I will line the opening with fleece of course to tidy it up), but I designed it to be suitable for all types of bedding, fleece, hay, sawdust. megazorb - you name it as it wont have a base, it can sit on what ever they live on in their pen.

In answer to the question, a day to cut out and sew. Its been several weeks in the planning and now as with the sqube and the trunnel, will go through several weeks of testing to see how it works, washes, rebounds and copes with the demands of being in a guinea pig pen.

Hi are you using vet beds in the floor of your cage/s? Ref: photo above. Just wondered if they are any good, thanks.

Hi I use a combination of fleece and vet bed on the bases of the pig pens. I find both work very well for me, I dont have a large area of vet bed, more a snuggle/lounging area for them to lie on if they wanted something more soft and they do prefer to lie on it as well as inside my various beds, squbes, cozies and even sometimes the litter trays.

Day 3 and the gazebo remains a huge hit with the boys, they kept it upright this time and have been snoozing underneath it and taking it in turns - infact it is so much of a hit, they have not even slept in the strawberry bed, and they love that bed :)) I cant wait to make the herds one, although I suspect I will have to make 2 to avoid too much bickering rolleyes
