Hi everyone

Just curious when i should start introducing veg to my piggies they are both 10 week old, iv been told to start introducing bits of veg over the next 3-4 weeks.

As i am feeling a bit unsure just wanted a few opinions.

Thank you :))

Hi and welcome
I give my 9 week old pup alfie veg and have for the last week or so as he shares with my 2 year old charlie so hes gonna get his or pinch charlie ha ha he seems to be fine if they are both young maybe just small amounts but every day :)

Mine have them from the day they are born. It's quite lovely watching a day old bub running round with a bit of lettuce. Obviously in moderation. Introduce just a few at a time though now, as they are not used to it. Eventually they will need a good teacupful of mixed veg each day. Preferably in two servings. May start with some romaine lettuce and a little carrot, and build up from there. xx

Just start introducing veg slowly and never more than one new variety per meal (you can feed it along already introduced ones) until you can feed a nice mix of veg ideally twice daily. If they don't like a veg, serve it up an other day again and again...

Count one cupful/50g of mixed veg per piggy per day and weight your boys weekly.

Make sure that your boys have plenty of hay as that should be the mainstay of their diet. Grass counts as hay, but they will still need the dry stuff as well.

Check whether they are drinking from the bottle. Not all youngster have learned to do so yet. Put a water bowl underneath and keep it refilled/changed until you have seen either of them drink from the bottle.

hi guys thanks for this information i really appreciate it its useful to me as i dont really know what I'm doing haha.

iv seen craig having a drink but not david yet, however i saw david drinking yesterday when i got him from a bottle.

I'm a bit peeved off because they are in a side room to my kitchen and everytime i walk in they fly off and hide, is this normal or do you think i should put them in the living room until they get used to me.

i only got them yesterday i know it will be slow progress I'm just excited and want to see a bit more of them haha.

i am going to take some piccies and upload them soon i just need to see them first haha.

cant believe how much they do poos. iv picked all the poos up this morning o my word its like poo city haha.

i have also been putting vitamin c supplement in their water is this ok to do so?

Sorry for all the questions. haha
