Mikey! Our new Sheltie X smooth coat boar. He's 9 weeks old and we adopted him this afternoon from a local rescue. I spent three hours cuddling with him when we got home and he curled up and relaxed while giving me gentle nibbles and wheeks. I'm in love with my new little boy already :3

He is gorgeous! Was there not another boar at the rescue he could be bonded with?

Sadly not, he's happier being on his own and has been since the rescue has had him x

He is lovely, is he neutered? If he is you could find him a wife!

he is beautiful.Defo on my pigknapping list. I'm getting a red sheltie sow next week and buzzing about it

Awww, he is so snugly  Obviously very relaxed and happy with you, lovely to see.

Welcome little Mikey, I hope to see lots of pigtures of you in the future

He is absolutely gorgeous! I really wouldnt give up on the idea of bonding him to another male, he is really young.

@degu_rock can I send you my stroppy Jack to find a friend for?! I hate him being alone.
Just got a 150 cm x 60 cm hutch so I have suitable accomodation for another piggie pair :)

Oh I'm definitely not giving up on the idea, I'm going to look into it in the coming months :) he met our rabbit today (she has been hand reared and brought up around guineas) and they got on like a house on fire! Obviously not a replacement for a piggy brother or wife but he enjoyed it!

I might have someone suitable, I have an 18 month old boy coming to me Saturday will quarantine him and get him vet checked and your more then welcome to try him with Jack :)

he is only 9 weeks old give him a month or two to settle down and he could be bonded with a male. I've never found a piggy who couldn't be bonded to another male and I have 26 :))
ha tell that to my boys colossus and nemesis they fell out at 9 months old and have had a divide ever since! they are both insanely dominant i tried to bond them in turn with my other boars and they were such bullys! i haven't tried any since! my other boars never hump or mount each other at most they occasionally grumble and the odd bum wiggle but they are too peaceful to have C or N in with them

A baby pig would work better its rare an adult will fight a baby. Even the most stroppy piggy will usually be fine with a baby :)

I can vouch for this, my boars got on like a house on fire when one was a baby, the older was actually realy protective of him! Since the baby hit puberty though they can't stand eachother - boys! :xd:

Yes that's the only downside when they hit purberty they can fall out depends on how strong the bond is. I have 26 boys and only one chooses to live by himself, I have a group of 9 boys and trios and pairs :)

Wow can I pay you to come over to my boys and work your magic? :D Hehe

What a cutie! He looks like he could be coronet cross? Coronet is a type of Sheltie I think. I'm just learning these things though so this may not be correct though... :mal:

You think so? I'm currently looking into his breed a bit more but as he's a rescue I'm finding it pretty hard. All I know is that he's a Sheltie X smooth so you could be right piggly! X
