so my boyfriend and i are living in my parents basement for now, and we have the pigs down here with us, basement door locked to keep out the cats. we also have a very loving, albeit rambunctious, lab who is very jealous of the pigs, he cant see them but he knows theyre down there bc he hears me talk to him in the same voice i talk to him in. the weather has been really nice, and ive been wanting to get the pigs outside. the problem is the dog. i know he wouldnt hurt them, bc he has never hurt another one of his "family members" but i know he would be reeeally excited to meet them, and I'm afraid the pigs will be traumatized. they'll be in the enclousure so nothing could happen, but i dont want to cause any piggy panic attacks. how have you guys introduced other animals, or at least kept well adjusted pigs in the same area? any techniques that i should try?

I don't know, for my dogs, I get them used to the little ones since young - Or for my Sukie's case (She came home to me at 5 years old), I let her sniff through the bars and introduce her to my rabbits whom stands their ground.

Both my dogs respect the little furries in my house&. will only sniff at them.

Perhaps to reduce stress, you could put some of the dogs' stuffs near the cage so they can get used to the smell of the dog?
