Jayne.

I was just wondering if anyone else had guinea pigs who seem to pick themselves up & dust themselves off from anything?

The other day, Freddy dived on a shoe box, which then toppled & forced him to land on his back with the box on top of him! He then jumped up & went over to the hay as if nothing had happened! :))

& Fudge, a guinea pig who is no longer with us, once ran full speed straight into a wall, stopped, rubbed his face with his paw then continued exploring! :))

They're invincible little creatures aren't they?! :p

They are a lot hardier than many people believe.

My boy Todd once was on my chest as a little'n, about 6 months old I think, as I was sat on a dining room chair downstairs as I was on the computer, and he kept creeping up and onto my shoulder and just sat there for a while. Then all of a sudden he leaped or toppled off and started running and popcorning around the dining room LOL! I was terrified for a split second as I'm not tall but that was a good 4ft drop, but he just whistled happily to himself and ran round as if to say 'can't catch me!' :))

I've also had my old boy Sam run out of his hutch and I missed catching him, I had to do the 'claw grab' on top of him to stop him bolting off round the garden. I've never had any 'fall' apart from Jasper who did last year when I had him on the hutch, and stupidly looked away for a split second, and he landed on his head! He isn't the type of pig to wander around much so I trusted him to stay put, and I was stood right next to him, but I was fiddling with something, probably when I was about to cut his fur back and sorting the scissors out. I screamed a lot of swear words, as you can imagine lol, but he kinda shook his head a little and was ok lol

I'm not that clumsy with them though, that all sounds awful lol!

:)

I did *** one of my piggies in a triangular cosey, carrying him to the run in the garden, for ONE SECOND i moved my hand from the exit to open the back door, and the piggy jumped! I did manage to hold my hand under him, so he landed on that but then hopped off again onto the floor. *both were less than 2ft drops* as if this wasnt bad enough, my dog bella was in the room (now shes not agressive towards the piggies usually but did once espcape and catch+kill a wild rabbit when we were on holiday) so i was very very scared! She lunged for the piggy, slid her paws either side of him, held him very gently with her chin on his back so he couldnt move, and once hed stopped moving she licked him till he was sodden! He was not very impressed however i was. :) She stopped him escaping AND didnt kill him! He survived his ordeal and got much TLC afterwards.

Haha :))

Aww! Poor little things!

I'm quite sure they'd go through it all again if it meant extra snuggles & TLC!
