Hi guys, really sorry if my query happens to be a pointless time waster but I really just want to make sure.

My lovely 3yr old boar was acting oddly today (I think). I plopped him on our outdoor table to munch on some Swiss chard and enjoy some fresh air, as it was a mild but slightly chilly day. I held the leaves up to his mouth to munch on and he would happily do so. But then as I leaned on the table I noticed he was rapidly vibrating.

Now I know guinea pigs vibrate if they are cold, scared, angry or happily purring etc, but this was very quick. Aswell as this he’d pause eating his food and drop it staring blankly at me until I hold the food back up to him.

His breathing was also really fast and as I touched his chest it would have short bursts of rapid breathing and then would pause, it wasn’t consistent it was pretty irregular.

Was he just cold? Was he stopping breathing because I was touching him? Sorry my description is pretty
vague, I hope you guys can make something of it.

How is he now? It is more likely that he felt nervous being out in the open.

He seems to be okay now, it was only when I put him on the table, which made me pretty sure it was just the cold.

Probably a combination of the cold wind (shivering) and exposure to the sky in a prominent location, which guinea pigs instinctively avoid (danger=stress=inceased heart rate=fast breathing).
