I ordered a bag online for the first time. It's just been delivered and looks lovely but it does look quite dusty. Does anyone else use it? If so, do you extract the dust? And how?
I dont think it is, no. I always just shook a handful over the bin before giving it when i used to use it. The end of the bag is a bit of a nightmare! I didnt sneeze much with it though whereas the only other ones that dont make me sneeze is ings hay and the dust free company hay.. So maybe its just more fragments than dust?
I usually use dustfreehay timothy hay but thought I'd give alfalfa king a try. But yes, in relation to dustfreehay it is very dusty. It looks nice hay though
i wouldn't call it dusty but it does have some broken shorter bits at the bottom of the bag. i usually take it outside and shake it all whilst i transfer it into something else other than the plastic. perhaps try that?
i've found hay for pets hays to be the best in terms of virtually dust free. ironically the dust free hays, especially the soft one, set me and all the pets off sneezing! the ings hay from hay for pets in particular is fantastic
I could be completely wrong on this but I always thought American hay was dust extracted. It does make me sneeze when I get to the bottom of the bag though.
I use this & find the bottom of the bag dusty, so I always empty a few handfuls into a black bin bag, shake it out (Whilst turning my head away lol ) then take out a handful at a time shake it again & put into a plastic storage box without a lid so it can breathe.
