I recently inquired a beautiful little guinea pig to babysit for a few months. Now I've come to find out that the owner no longer wants this precious little thing. Also I've been informed that Ariel was actually a boy instead of a girl. I'm confused on how to find out if this is true or not. Does anybody have any suggestions on how to do so without violating my guinea pigs personal space.

Hello and welcome
I've moved your post to our health and illness section for the time being although I know there's nothing wrong with Ariel. It's just that out most experienced advisors monitor this thread.

Does Ariel live alone? If so it's less important to immediately sex him/her although for care you would need to know what to check.
If you can post a close up photo of the genitals we can help identify the sex.

Boars do need more care to their genitals than sows. Please see this link Boar Care: Bits, Bums & Baths

As you are new to piggies it would be as well to read our new starter bundle of links. These contain loads of information. New Owners' Online Starter " Booklet" For Really Helpful Advice

Finally please could you add your location to your profile. It helps us with advice.

If you go to the pregnancy page, there is a sticky about determining gender with some links to pictures. You may be able to determine what gender Ariel is by comparing to the pictures. If there's still confusion, posting a picture of his/her parts may allow us to help you figure it out. Unfortunately there's no real way to know without violating their privacy a bit! ;)
