I randomly got a bag of this free with another piggie order I received recently. It looks too good to waste! But I don't know if it's safe for piggies.

It contains:

Thistle pellets (meadow hay, lady’s thistle), rose hips, carrots, nettle, rose petals

I know meadow hay (obviously!), carrots, nettle and rose petals are OK for guineas but tried googling lady's thistle and couldn't find anything. I also found something that said rosehips are fine too, but I'm paranoid and haven't dared to risk it yet!

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Rosehips are okay but it's probably best to remove the seeds or just take the rosehips out the mix, they are a good source of vitamin C though. The rest of the mix is fine, lady's thistle is another name for milk thistle/sow thistle (Silybum marianum).

Thanks so much, I'll have a look at the rosehips and see if I can easily remove the seeds, are the seeds poisonous then, or is it a choking risk?

They're not poisonous but they are covered in irritating hairs and in theory present a choking hazard, it probably wouldn't do any harm, I'm sure some people feed them whole but it's just a better safe than sorry thing.
