Is Buxton water suitable for piggies? I would rather not give them tap water as it contains quite a bit of chlorine but I'm wondering if this seems okay?

I know a few people who use bottled water for their pigs, some filter it too.

I filter my water as I filter it for our kettle anyway. it's probably far cheaper in the long run than using bottled water, if you are concerned about tap water quality... You can get some fairly cheap filter systems around.

I do have a filter actually! But it always tastes weird when it goes through the filter unless that's normal? I just want to make sure it's safe for the pigs.

It shouldn't taste odd.... I know my Brita filter jug recomends a few runs through of water when you put a new filter in before you can drink it...

Filtered tap water shouldn't add anything so should be safe for piggies. It will be the mineral levels in bottled water you need to be careful of as they can be higher than tap water I think.

Your tap water supplier should have the water quality on their website for your address, that shows exactly what's in it so you can compare to the bottled water. You might find it's not that different...

It just tastes filtered I guess, but then I am used to tap water but I'm going to try and switch to filtered. Thank you though everyone, I will definitely use filtered.

I saw a thing on the tv a while back that said if you live in a hard water area that there's more calcium in the water

Hi, I have given my piggies bottled water for 3 yrs following bladder issues. At the moment they have volvic.
I think the bicarbonate is too high in your bottle.
I have thought about filtering. I could not get facts of filter company for how much calcium is removed. I live in an extremely high calcium area.
My piggies have low calcium diets to.
