We buy this for our lizard from iceland i wondered if its safe to use for the piggies aswell. It contains young leaf spinach, lambs lettuce, baby leaf red lettuce, wild rocket and baby leaf ruby chard.
Thank you in advance

Thank you would it be ok to give every day then add other veg into it as well?

No. You cannot give any fresh food daily really as they need a balanced diet. Some do give one slice of pepper daily to help with vitamin c though.

How often do you feed yours the salad? I have only had my piggies this morning so currently ready up on this. Ive read that people feed theirs veg every day I'm confused now lol

Would every other day be ok for the salad and veg?

I feed mine salad twice a week. They need vegetables twice a day but different ones. I will tell you what I do. Every morning mine have cucumber as I like to ensure they are hydrated. In the evening I feed one vegetable or herb. Most people feed a mix but I have always fed just one. One day they will have carrot, next day salad, next fennel, next celery, next parsley, next pak choice, next bell pepper. Does that make sense?

excellent thank you, yes that makes sense, thank you kindly for your help.

Although others will not like the fact I feed just one vegetable a day I find I am able to change it up more.

I think it is a good idea as they are getting something different each day.

I'm going to do the cucumber every morning then give them something different every day so it mixes it up a bit. With the cucumber do i need to take the skin off or just slice it and put it in?

Hello and welcome to forum! Here is a list of all the veg that piggies can and can't eat:

Moderation and variation are key. Another thing to bare in mind is the amount of calcium in veg. Too much calcium can potentially cause bladder problems, so when deciding on your food routine, try not to give too many high calcium foods on the same day, or too frequently throughout the week.

This chart groups veg by their calcium content (scroll half way down):

Spinach, for example, is high in calcium so it would be unwise to give the Florette salad every day.

My piggies have cucumber and pepper everyday. The other veggies I alternate. I choose to feed pellets in the morning and veg in the evening, as this fits best with our daily routine. Hay should be unlimited and freely available throughout the day and night. Water should also always be available.
