Hi! ;) just a quick question I have 2 lovely piggies in a 4ftby2ft outside hutch and was wondering if it is big enough for one more piggie, as would like to give a home to a rescue piggie. They do have an outside run which is the same size as the hutch and in bad weather they come indoors for a run.

Thats fine for two, but for three you'd need one a foot bigger. :)

it also can be difficult to introduce a third member to an established 'pair'

For 3 it needs to be 5x2 or 4x3 so a foot bigger.

Are they girls, if so adding another on neutral ground can work depending on personality but if boars I wouldn't chance it and stick with the two. With boars 2 is company 3 is a crowd. :)

It could be worth getting a second cage just in case of fights so you could seperate.homing rescue piggies is a great idea and very rewarding!

A 4ft by 2 is fine for two piggies :) but if you want to add to this you will need bigger accomadation. I have successfully bonded many piggies to already bonded pairs. Do not be put off ;)

thanx for replys, might have to wait until next year to get another member of our piggie girl family as can not afford another hutch, as only had this one a couple of months. :(
