I'm looking to adopt a third piggy and I've found this one posted locally online for adoption. Aside from the obvious horrible-ness of her current cage, does anyone else think she looks way too small to be (apparently) 1 year old? I'm wondering if she's malnourished, or the current owner is just wrong about her age?01111_idp6gYyVDMa_600x450.webp

To truly know if she is malnourished you would need to weigh her, but she does look pretty small and I would keep in contact with the owner and keep asking questions about how much she is fed and stuff like that.

Aw, poor little mite, she will be so happy with you and her new sisters. Good on you for adopting her and getting her out of that “fish tank”

Who keeps anything other than FISH in a tank like that! SO pleased you have rescued her ....

I was appalled to see the tiny cage my first two, Piper and Annie, were living in... About the right size for a hamster. Then I found this girl in an aquarium, with no hiding place and no hay! It's crazy what some owners don't know about what their guinea pigs need. =[ But ANYWAY! Now they have a good and appropriate home. Welcome Calla to the herd! 🥰IMG_20190522_083825.webpIMG_20190522_083810.webp

Oh my gosh so cute I just can’t 😵😍

So glad you saved her, what a horrible existence she had before. Looks like she’s made herself at home! Wish my lot cuddled each other like that instead of nipping each other :))

Oh bless her! I did have to look closely as I thought she might be a hamster or definitely a guinea pig younger than a year old.

Thanks so much for adopting her - welcome to Calla.

Please let us know how she gets on.

So glad she has found a wonderful home and new sisters to talk to.

This reminded me of the time I was appointed as Lara's pet parent. Lara was about to be homeless so I took her in and got her a cage for $100. I already had my boy Finn at that time and was actively searching for a boy cagemate for him.
Finn and Lara live in seperate cages nearby each other and it has worked for us. My boy Finn is a year and a half years old. I don't know how old Lara is really.

Lara's previous owner, my friend, told me she didn't know guinea pigs ate veggies. Lara also didn't have much hay either. She was living on pellets all by herself, alone in an open playpen when I got her.
