I get it everywhere! But my piggy room is laminate so i just sweep it up! I put storage boxes in their hay racks to crate a high sided litter tray to keep the hay off the fleece and then add a door at the front so that they can get in and out, i find that works pretty well. I still find Hay everywhere though lol!

I need a door pic of your most ACE cage and hay area.

I found some ideas. Has anyone tried any of these?

image.webp image.webp This bottom one I like only I would make the hole smaller to keep them out of it hopefully and probably add duck tape around the edges so they wouldn't be too sharp. I wonder if making long vertical slits would work? Maybe they couldn't pull it out as easy?!?

I can't post pics on my phone but i will do when i get home. Some of those are good ideas. I like the last one too but with a smaller hole like you said :)

Yeah and you could probably get enough hay in it for the whole day "maybe"

I get hay everywhere too! It's just something that goes along with keeping piggie, rabbits or any animal that eats hay. I have to hand pick it out of the rocks and it's really annoying! I use a normal hay rack with the sides covered up so they don't get stuck and I also use a Hay bag - Link Here

I made the holes big though so it falls out more easy and the hay is short aswell :(
Wish There was a way to avoid it but I really like that wood hay rack so I might build one :)

Talking of having hay everywhere I found some stuck to my toast this morning. Sometimes hay likes to come for showers aswell.....I'm used to it and given in to the fact that hay is just gunna be an intimate and integrel part of my life, not sure the OH is quite so content though!

Yep hay everywhere on our house too! I found some in my pocket last week. And my handbag...
We Hoover all the time but 1 hour later there's hay everywhere again! Some friends of mine with indoor pigs also said the same & didn't even notice till they had a baby and she got covered in hay too!

I've taken to putting the hay from the bag into an old laundry basket to carry it to the cages as we've got 4 set ups at the moment in different places. Before the whole of downstairs was always covered with bits of hay. At least now it's only around the c&c cage.

That's what happens here and if I don't get it up right away, between the dogs and kids it's gets tracked EVERYWHERE, except up stairs so far lol.
The poops aren't so bad because the dogs get those for me right away lol lol.
I'm gonna try to come up with something :) wish me luck lol. I will share if I actually find a way that works.

I am resigned to the fact there will be the odd poo in odd places, substrate all round the rat cages, hay in the hall floor, living room and kitchen and the odd bit floating in the bath with me.Hubby used to ask when we had moved into a farm
