I know guineas can eat apple and and chew apple wood , but how about the buds on the branches ? cant seem to find anywhere that says specifically yes or no ? I would assume that they could but thought id ask here first.
I will sometimes give mine apple branches complete with leaves - they go nuts over it. I do wash it though incase there are any creepy crawlies on it and I do know that there are no pesticides being used on the tree.
I know there are definitely no pesticides on it as its form my garden I've got five trees to go at so there well supplied but now the trees are budding I just wasn't sure.
I would really not feed mine any sort of apple as it can cause fungal infections. However, if yours can safely eat apple then I'm sure that it will be fine and the wood might keep their teeth in good shape.
Just keep an eye on any poky out bits, we had a guinea to stay last year that poked her eye on the apple branch the owners left in her cage :{ poor piggie. She made a full recovery though
