Our girls' favourite thing in the world is fresh grass. We have quite a lot of it so I was going and getting them two to three hay bowls worth a day but they've been ill recently with respiratory/worming problems and while giving them their medicine noticed their stomachs were rumbling like crazy and they has quite a bit of wind. I saw someone say that they can 'overdose' on anything that's green which made me worry. Should I reduce their grass intake, or am I actually hindering them by doing so?

I would reduce the intake especially in view of their rumbly bellies and make sure that their digestive system was OK, and only then introduce it slowly and in small portions.

Ok good, at least I haven't been denying them for no reason. :D

I'll keep them on grass rations for the rest of the week and make sure they have plenty of hay.

Thanks again.

I would cut out on the grass and just give hay - too much grass is making them rumbly!

Oh but they wheek so sweetly! :)

No problem. Zero grass for the rest of the week, but I'm definitely going to be off their christmas card list.

Mine were having similar problems as I had put them on grass full time because of the hay importing problem here.

I had to reduce their grass intake due to rumbling tummies and wind, thankfully we have hay again now so they are back on that with grass 3 times per week.

I know what you mean about the wheeking though, however 3 times a week I feel is enough and at least you know they won't get sick of it!
