Autumn has just been diagnosed with a uterine mass. As she is just skin and bones, she is not a candidate for surgery. The little ginger firecracker is really keen to eat but finds chewing very tiring. Is there a way we can "juice" the grass or other leafy greens to make it drinkable? She is totally fed up of mashed pellets despite us having 4 different varieties so any mix needs to not contain these.

Banana, carrot, loads of spinach and half a cup of water in a blender make up my morning smoothie..... I never thought of sharing it with a piggy if they got sick, but now I think about it, no reason why not, they are all things that piglets can eat. Maybe try that?

I'm contemplating powdered wheatgrass and barley grass plus I've seen this on the Holland and Barratt website which has kale, broccoli & spinach powder in: Bioglan Superfoods Supergreens Berry Burst Powder Berry | Holland & Barrett - the UK’s Leading Health Retailer as I'd like to give her a no chewing required option - almost something she can have in drips.

We've tried whizzing food around in the Tommy Tippee, the coffee grinder & the hand held blender but it doesn't make them small enough. Not sure if I still have the juicer - must check when I get home

If in doubt you can buy grass powder, but I cant see why it couldnt be liquidised. Generally its advised against giving bruised grass as it ferments and causes gas, but completely liquidised surely wouldnt be any different to them chewing it?

I use wheat grass powder for Iggy as he wouldn't entertain his pellet mix & critical care after a while. Once this was added it became irresistible! :)

Hope you find something nice for you poorly baby.

I think that is very very good for our health, but bananas and carrots are rich of sugars and spinach are rich of oxalates... and sugars and oxalate are not good for piggies... even when they are sick don't need sugars, but fibres...
(anyway, thank you for the good recipe! I will do that for me and family)

Aut's tried powdered wheatgrass last night, she said it was OK but what else had I got? This morning she has attacked a strawberry, a baby chard leaf and a cucumber slice plus a few strands of fresh grass. It's progress and I'm hoping that if we can keep on top of her pain management that she will continue to build her strength

I haven't tried liquified grass but use mushed up pellets with a teaspoon of critical care. Mix enough pellets for one day. They seem to accept it better that either on their own. If they aren't on antibiotic you can also mix in 1/2 teaspoon of a probiotic such as Avipro Plus. If on antibiotics give the probiotic at least 90 minutes after the antibiotic x

Aut's has been on assisted feeding for over a month. At the beginning she was willing to eat the syringe paste off the spoon. Her favourite pellets are the Harrington's Optimum ones but we also have Selective, Burgess Oregano & Blackcurrent, Burgess Country Value Fruity pellets and Rosewood Meadow Menu pellets plus Protexin Pro-fibre pellets. We have mushed different combinations of these and flavoured them with either homemade barley water or mashed fruit but she has now decided that she is bored of them as well as the barley water by itself which she normally loves.
