Poor Lottie’s got a Respiratory Infection so I’ve got her in a smaller separate cage, but can she stay in the Pig room to see and hear the others or can it pass in the air?

@TheLottiediarys I would think that your other piggies would already have the infection if they were going to get it so she'll be fine in the same room.

:agr: With @Jaycey. I’ve never separated any of mine and none of the others have ever caught a URTI from the infected one.

I've never separated, in fact my vet has told me not to on a few occasions, the stress of separation can lead to one of the others getting ill where they wouldnt have when kept together!

My vet told me not to seperate them as if it was going to be passed on it already would have been.

I would reintroduce away from the cage, they would probably feel more comfortable with each other that way.

Reintroduced and it went well,
Poor Lottie doesn’t seem to want comfort from them, Anya kept trying to nuzzle her nose and lick her but she kept waddling away, bless her she can’t walk very fast, her weezing doesn’t seem so loud but I’m still worried 😟

Aww bless her. I hope she gets better soon. URIs do seem to take a long time to go, it's good you can detect an improvement, things are moving in the right direction! Sending you a big hug, it's always worrying to have a sick piggy, if only they could talk and tell us how they are feeling.

Oh no. I am so sorry.
You did all you could for her, she was so lucky to have such a caring owner. Look after yourself, take time to grieve. Xx
