The last few times I have gone to get Alan and Barry out of their hutch for run time Alan has kicked me with his back leg!

They're always reluctant to let me catch them but now we are in a routine of lifting up their hidey hole and tilting it so they can't escape to the other bit of the hutch then picking them up from behind.

They are both lovely natured and cuddily once on my lap or in my arms etc but I wondered if it's notmal behaviour or if there is something he is unhappy about....?

Has anyone else been kicked by their pig?!

Archie has kicked me ever since I got him, little rascal! Especially when I'm trying to give him a haircut, which is really unhelpful when I have scissors in my hand :{. They seem to have a sensitive spot just in front of the back legs, as most of mine will kick out if I touch there.

Hector often kicks me when I try to pick him up, Spike only does it when he wants the toilet and doesn't want me to pick him up yet. If I get kicked I usually wait a minute to see if they just want a poo then try again. Hector just has tantrums!

i always used to get kicked by cleo when she was preggers...

probably because she didnt like getting picked up then because it was uncomfortable... so maybe look in to skin conditions and stomach problems maybe...?

just a thought though... I'm no vet... :)

Roy kicks, he's like a rabbit, as soon as you try and pick him up, or do his nails or anything he kicks like mad with his back legs, I just keep on top of nail trims so as not to get scratched and often pick him up in a bed, I am realising though that out of my four piggies, he just really doesn't like being held and generally will put him down to run and hold him as little as possible as he clearly isn't happy about it. Funny as he's more confident than Fitz and will come up to see me if he's out etc, he just hates being held/picked up.

I know Oreo kicks me when she is peeved at me for something. It is either I haven't noticed her water is out or that she feels she should. These guys have weird ways on showing you that they are peeved. Weird.
