My friend asked me the other day if Lara was mine or hers?
This friend didn't want Lara so she appointed me as Lara's pet parent because I already was raising Finn the guinea pig, and 7 hamsters.

When Lara came to live with me a few months ago, she never had veggies or fruit and very skinny. Now, Lara lives in a cage, which I bought for her, a playpen, pouches she loves to sleep in, and stuffed toys she cuddles with. Most importantly, Lara gets veggies three times a day, for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and endless supply of hay with some pellets.

I told my friend she can visit Lara whenever she wants to.

Too right! Lara is now yours. Your friend gave you Lara and because she (Lara) is now healthy, getting a good diet and in a large enough cage not to mention stimulation from Finn she (your friend) wants her (Lara) back. Errr I think not! Lara is now settled and happy and you did the right thing in telling your friend that she could visit Lara whenever she wants.

Errrrrmmmmm..... who feeds / cleans out / cares for her? (Can you tell I have this argument with my kids....)

Prior to being appointed Lara's pet parent by this friend, I was actively searching for a cage mate for Finn, another boy.
But I didn’t want to see Lara homeless so I took her in. After I was given Lara, I spent hundreds of dollars to ensure Lara is cared for. She got a new cage for $100. I got her several pouches, which she sleeps in and many stuffed toys she cuddles and snuggles with.
Finn was already getting plenty of veggies with three meals a day so Lara also got veggies three times a day along with Finn. She put on some weight after living with me.

Lara is definitely better off with you. I remember when you were looking for a friend for Finn and wondering whether or not to take in Lara or not. I'm vet all 3if you are pleased you did.
