even when his mate was alive he seemed to always hide in his hut and only comes out to eat rink and just generally munch.

the only time he stays out in the open for ages is when he thinks veg is on its way

I think alot of pigs can be shy like that, they're naturally nervous aren't they. He probably does come out when he thinks no one is watching

Maybe handle him more, once they're used to you they tend not to be so wimpy..

my 2 boars each live with 3 wives and they are the last to come out of their hideys for food, they do spend a lot of their time sitting under the stick hideys. Whereas the girls are usually milling about, Poppy Blossom & Minnie are practically falling over themselves when its hay or food time. :p

I think my boys are just shy.
