Hi my names Annie and I have two Guinea pig Maggie and tinker I feed them medow hay I have heard that Timothy hay is the best one you can get for Guinea pigs but I was wondering if medow hay was ok for them as well.
My Guinea pigs have been on medow hay for a good while and nothing has been wrong with them I get the hay from a place called range. I was only asking this question because quite a lot of hay for Guinea pigs isn't good for them.
What do you think ??

Meadow is fine, Timothy is higher in fiber, meadow hay is good for eating and bedding because its softer and cheaper.. And Timothy is good for just eating

Any type of grass hay is absolutely fine. Nothing wrong with feeding meadow hay at all.
I give my boys a mixture though so they don’t get bored of one type - they are bedded on meadow hay which they also eat while sitting in it and i put Timothy in their hay racks so as to avoid haypoke injuries as it is sharper.
