Not sure if I have added too many tunnels/hidies that it impacts the guinea pigs running space? But at the same time there's 5 Guinea pigs and I don't want to create any issues over territory/hidies. The cage is nearly equivalent to a 7 x 6 C&C and I have left a gap at the back of second story that they like to run through. But if I get rid of something, it's really hard to choose what to get rid of as they use them all. Tier 4 problems. 😅
 
It looks great to me, lots of space for doing zoomies with loops through tunnels etc.
You could try swapping between the cardboard box hidie and the wooden hut with the ramp if you wanted a little more openness, give them a bit of variety maybe ...

No, I meant sometimes have the cardboard one in the enclosure, and sometimes the wooden one, so they get a bit of a change of scenery as it were. Maybe put hay in them sometimes for those that like to bury themselves in hay and hide :love:
I wish I had that amount of space for my 3 :nod:

That's a good idea with the hay 💡 Not all 5 can fit in the castle, so I think it would cause arguments but hopefully most of them can fit into the box! Might take the castle out! 👍 Thank you :)
 
It looks good to me. With five piggies, you want one hide per piggy so everybody can go to their own room If they want to. My two have four hides in their hutch, and six in their play pen at any one time

Is the ramp covered with cardboard? do they climb up it?

Thank you and I'd not long cleaned it out when that pic was taken I tend to put some fleece over the top and dangle this over the ramp so it creates their favorite hidey underneath where they can also curl into the fleece If they wish. I used grids for the ramp and then just put cardboard on top. 2/5 used the ramp in the first hour of it being there and have continued to use it every now and then (if they suspect there's food) the other 3 I haven't seen use it. But I've kept it in there as it creates a nice hidey at the back which they like to run around and it's useful to be able to hang their water bottle and hay rack on. I might make it smaller at some point! Many thanks :)
 
What a great set up. So lovely and spacious with lots of hiding places.

My 5 have three ikea dolls beds to hide under as well as their hay trays.

Thank you! And aww cuties that's what mine do too all day sounds like a stampeed of elephants and have to check that nothings broken! Luckily for me they don't really tend to do that at nighttime or very early morning! 🌅
