I have a 3 and a half year old boar. Noticed that he is off his food including salad and hay. His eyes are dull and sunken & he is hunched in appearance. He has lost weight too. Poop seems looser. Just doesn't look happy.
Please advise so I can make him comfy.

your boy is not particularly old but sounds like he is ill. He needs to see a vet as a matter of urgency, this does warrant a visit to the emergency vet.

He does sound ill and like he needs a vet. He's not elderly and these are fairly typical signs of a number of treatable illnesses, so the goal is to get him medical help, not to make him comfortable with the idea that there's nothing else to be done for him.

Welcome.

I wondered why he is depressed.
Is he living alone?

Hi!

Please have him seen by a vet as an emergency NOW!

The hunching is a clear sign that he is in pain. Please always see a vet as soon as you notice the first sign of illness. Save up for vet care on a weekly basis as part of any pet regular living cost right from the start. Small pets cannot wait for days or weeks. Vet care is the biggest overall budget post in any pet's life. The right to be free of pain and discomfort is one of the basic animal rights that applies to any animal in human care.
Early Signs Of Illness

Step in with syringe feeding as soon as your piggy is starting to lose weight, so he can keep his strength until he can be seen and until any medical treatment is kicking in. Don't simply force any food in that he is not able to swallow, especially if he is very weak.
Not Eating, Weight Loss And The Importance Of Syringe Feeding Fibre

Keep him warm and comfy (but not hot) until he can be seen.

When the eyes are dull and there are loose stool this seems like he is shutting down. Hes not very old though so i would get a vet appointment as an emergency with a guinea pig vet like right now.Sorry to say this but its exactly what i have seen in two of my guinea pigs that have passed away on the way to the vets the next day but they were very old . 6 and 7 and diagnosed terminally ill

Are the three boys getting along?
I heard boys tend to fight more when there are more than two. I wondered if he is being bullied and not being able to eat properly, which is making him lose weight.

If vet doesn't find anything wrong and he is just malnourished, maybe check the bullying around the cage?

RIP Jupiter. Thank you for all the words of support but sadly he passed away this morning. X

I am ever so sorry. Guinea pigs can go downhill very quickly when they are as severely ill as yours. I have lost several in a matter of hours of them showing the first symptoms. It is always a race against time to allow any meds to kick in. :(

Sorry to hear this, you done the right thing coming on here for advice. Shows how much you loved your pig. X

Oh, so sorry for your sad loss. What a beautiful piggie. Sleep tight little Jupiter x

Yes all 3 did get along and he was the youngest but dominant one. So mot sure as he was well up until 2 to 3 days ago.

I'm so sorry for your loss. He looked like a lovely boy. ((HUGS)) to you.
