hii so I feed my guinea pig him his guinea pig nuggets along with apple and carrot Timothy hay, that's in the morning then in the evening I'll feed him a bowl full of veg, it just depends what I have , usually peppers , cucumbers, lettuce , he also has unlimited amount of regular hay and water, he also has chew toys and a toy with treats in it but yet he always squeaks and squeaks for food (well I think it is with my experince with my last piggies) so I'm not sure if I'm not feeding him enough or what

If he doesn't have a companion, he could be squeaking from loneliness. You could also try offering his veggies and pellets, split into separate morning and evening meals, so that he is getting a portion of his pellets and veggies at both meals.

Thanks for your reply, I'm going to my nearest rescue shelter on Friday and if they have any males I'm going to get one for him

Mine are the same, everytime I open the fridge they think they are getting fed, and squeak. Or when the front door opens they smell the air and think "GRASS", I'm cutting the grass with scissors now as its now stopped growing so they don.t get as much. I feel sorry for them as they must miss being outside in the garden.

If he has hay then he has something to eat!
But if he is anything like mine he will always be on the look out for something better to eat, and clearly he is keen to let you know he is open to suggestions of alternative foods!
Overall what you are feeding sounds fine, but just be wary of feeding too many sweet things like apple and carrot. These should be more of an occasional (once a week) treat, rather than a daily thing.
Good luck finding him a friend, and don't forget to let us know how you get on.

Thanks for replying ! :) the Timothy hay is apple and carrot flavoured, it has little bits of Apple and carrot in it

mine are forever wheeking, if they hear someone come near the hutch, if they hear chopping on the chopping board, if they hear a bag rustle and sometimes even at the sound of my voice. They just think if they wheek that they will get veggies... the OH doesn't help by occasionally sourcing extra veggie treats for them when they wheek at random times :)) so under the thumb!

Hahahaha thanks for replying, I've noticed too that if I'm in my room and open a packet of crisps he will suddenly start wheeking louder :P

You are feeding him enough, possibly too much. Your Guinea Pig is squeaking possibly out of loneliness, and if your Piggy starts squeaking, give him half a leaf of spinach or something, so he knows that he's getting food. Only give him half a leaf though, because if you always give him more than that he will start to think that every time he squeaks he will get lots of food, which is bad for their health.

I hope I helped you with your problem!

They're called pigs for a reason! :))

If you asked my girls they'd tell you that I never feed them, they're starving and never get a single green leaf!

My two wheeked all night a couple of nights back, they had plenty of food but they were just in a playful mood and every noise excited them. Even when I told them to shoosh they started wheeking. They aren't usually that vocal so I don't know what set them off but they were happy so that was the main thing.
