As you will all be aware its taken a bit of a cold turn in the UK and I find the mornings to be particularly cold. Basically my Guineapigs have an indoor set up in the upstairs room. They have towel as bedding and have 3 snuggle beds /houses the door is always closed and the window to keep heat in . But I'm still worried about it being a bit chilly for them. Should I take any extra steps by maybe putting a portable heater in or buying them some heat pads maybe as I worry they are cold 🙃

Whether you go to extra heating efforts now will depend on the temperature of the room. Is there a thermometer in the room? That is the only way you will know for sure whether it is too cold and whether they need extra or a different type of bedding (something fluffier such as fleece or vetbed) or a heater. I wouldn’t be putting a heater in the room without having a thermometer because you then run the risk of it being too hot and you just won’t know particularly if you don’t keep their door open as the heat won’t be able to escape.

You cpuld always try stuffing their houses with hay so they can snuggle into it

Good to plan ahead now - if you’re worried they’re cold in August you may well need a full on cold weather plan for the winter. I’m sure there’ll be plenty of ideas if you keep posting :)
